It's not a myth, it was all made up by a guy in Minnesota back in the '50s who got tired of all the bullshit about St. Paddy's day. That's why it comes a day before St. Paddy's day.
The Finns in the upper Mid-West have taken the story to heart and decided to have some fun, in some areas they have parades and dances to celebrate.
Then again, last month at a town not too far from where I live they had outhouse races. The winters are long and cabin fever sets in.
I'll drink to that!
