Geese Are Heading South

A couple more weeks and I will be following the geese. My time UP on the Tundra will be coming to an end in a few weeks. The Old Lady will be coming to drag me back to Hot-Lanta soon. I did manage to get a few projects done to get the place ready for when we move UP on the Tundra permanently.(Or is it Perma-Frost???) Made new stairs to the loft and did a new water supply and pumphouse. Didn't get all the work done on the plow-truck, but did get it running better. Still need to work on the drive line, something is slipping and making funny noises, think it is the chain to the transfer case is worn out.

Will have pictures when I'm back to our own confuser.

  1. Ah, transfer case chains were a stupid idea. Replacing them is a little tricky but you can do it yourself if you have a good repair manual and some decent tools and take your time and do it right.

And I'm assuming that if you are going to be living on the tundra that you have some decent tools.

I would make it a summer project, if you need to plow snow before then just put a ton of weight in the bed and don't use four wheel drive.

  2. Not possible to plow in 2 wheel drive. It's a Jeep Quadra-Trac.

  3. Well, I guess it's not possible for you to plow in 2 wheel drive but it's all I've ever plowed with. I was under the impression that you had a Ford pickup.

Anyone that buys a Jeep gets what they deserve, hahahaha

  4. Having said that, a Ford transfer case would have the same chain it during those years.
