Life UP on the Tundra

CALUMET - A beaver cut through a fiber optic cable 2 miles south of Calumet, causing 911 service outage today in northern Houghton County and all of Keweenaw County, along with additional problems for AT&T landline customers in the 337 and 289 prefix telephone exchanges.

Article in The Daily Mining Gazette.

Same thing happened a couple of years ago.

  2. pesky beavers...

  3. The University of Maine in Farmington's mascot is the beaver - The college is predominantly female, but I don't think one of them did it.

  4. Have you ever been up to the north end of US 41 in the Keewenah Peninsula? Awesome is an understatement - Yes, we had parkas on in August.
That was while I was at the SAC base at KI Sawyer just south of Marquette.

  5. Sarge, I've been to the end of US-41 many times starting when I was a kid.

When were you at K.I.?? I was there in '68 in the 62nd FIS. SAC SUCKS!!!!
