Another plus to doing comment moderation is I can delete spamm before it ever hits the comments. My last post received a comment with spamm, a link to used cars. I marked it as spamm and it never showed up anywhere other than in my e-mail inbox.
They've gotten very sneaky with their spamm, the comment starts off sounding complimentary and ends with a link to whatever they are pushing.
I rather enjoy not having comments turned on at all.
