I like how in the beginning of the video the guy is using a metal detector to find his car!! I have had some cars like the one in the video and still have a rusty truck UP on the tundra.
Yesterday I came across my copy of the book "You Know You're a Real Yooper When...." by Da Yoopers and that got me to thinking about Da Yoopers and other things UP on the tundra. Da Yoopers do some funny stuff, one of my favorites is "Second Week of Deer Camp"
Gotta love Da Yoopers!
ReplyDeleteI remember the bar they mentioned. The Crossroads used to be (maybe still is) one of the only "exotic dancer" places in sa whole UP.
Back in the late Sixties almost every town had "Exotic Dancers" in some bar especially around deer season. Last I looked I think the Crossroads is still there on the way to K.I.

ReplyDeleteSure, make me homesick.
ReplyDeleteYou guys are talking in code. I will come back and watch this video, but I'm here to tell you I have played the game. But I have words to have with you. You hint rather than reveal. I had to do research to figure out the tiniest details of the random things about you.
ReplyDeleteAnd I still don't know how to put a link in a comment. Magic, it seems to me.
I was coming back from shopping in wakko one night during christmas and this song came on the radio station..laughed all the way home..
ReplyDeleteI played "second week of deer camp" for a local good ole boy. He listened, and you could about hear his jaw dropping. ""You guys do that in Deer camp?"", he asked when the song was done?
ReplyDeleteI deadpanned: "And more." We haven't seen him or his wife since!:)
