What's a Hodag??

There is a town in Northern Wisconsin whose mascot is a Hodag. Below is one example of the Hodag located at the information center.

It is a fierce looking creature of mythical proportions.
Above is the country version (they do a music festival every year) of the Hodag. While there is a faint resemblance, it is hard to believe they are the same critter.

  1. Ah, my childhood summer vacations brought back to life. We did not stay in that city (is the name suppose to be a secret?) but we visited every year from '74-82.
